Are the Cellular Antennas necessary?

I received a freebie ipad2 that someone had attempted to replace the digitizer on. They had scraped out some of the glass at the top right where it broke, and in doing so, damaged the right cell antenna.

However, I'm not planning to connect it to a cell carrier, simply use it with wifi around the house.

So, my question is, will it cause issues to leave that broke? Or should I just replace?

The only way to find out is to test it. Maybe the damaged area works on a different band, or it is the GPS one or the damage does not impact performance. In the case that there are impacts, replace it
