Use Apple Superdrive on any Mac

This isn't really a question, but an answer to a common question. As we all know, Apple has a way to suck you into spending your money. I have a Superdrive to go with my Macbook Air, but I could not use it on my older iMac. After a bit research, the solution was so simple. All it takes is a bit software hack.

Navigate to /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ directory

open the com.apple.Boot.plist file in a text editor or in terminal use nano you will see a key <key>Kernel Flags</key>

under it add the following line

<string>mbasd=1</string>

reboot your Mac. Voila!! :)
