My iPod fell into water what do ido

my iPod (16GB, no camera) fell into water and the next day i tried to put it in rice but it didnt turn on i tried to charge nothing happened what do i do?

leobarthel, just like any device that has water damage, I suggest you do no longer try to turn it on or to charge, as this may cause further damage. Totally disassemble your iPod. using this teardown as an idea of how to do it. Once you have it apart, clean everything with a high grade of (90%+). Do not forget the connectors. Use a soft brush and carefully clean everything. check your board for any damaged or missing components. Once that is done, replace the battery, then reassemble and reevaluate for any further damage.
