I have abroke screen but I also have a new one

I have htc insp that has a broke screen with a password on it that I cant put in but I have a new htc insp phone and I like to know if I need to change the screens on then so I cant get my informiton off the broke one or can I just change the inside of the broke phone to the other one and it work with out changing screens
