laptop getting power but no display?

when i switched my Lenovo z570 ideapad laptop on it gets power supply (all lights will be on) but there will be no display on screen.help me with that.

Try hooking it up to an external monitor to see if you get video out that way. Otherwise, it could be that you need a new backlight or new lcd. Worst case, your graphics chip on the motherboard may be fried, in which case you need a new motherboard or new laptop.

I had this issue, and was unable to get video after hooking it up to an external monitor. I took it into a computer repair shop, and they found a large amount of apple juice inside. I could have found that myself if I wasn't so daunted by opening one of these machines up.
