Yes you can if it has the same values.

Merv Gower, you want to start by checking 3 inductors. For that, of course, you need a multimeter, or at least an ohm meter, to check for continuity. I hate to refer to those as fuses, but they most certainly control part of the charging circuit. First one is reference designator L3, it is a FERR-120-OHM-1.5A inductor. L4, right below it , has the identical value. Next would be the charger inductor L28 2.2UH-1.8A-155MOHM. All of these are pretty much available at mouser. com or digikey.com. Of course your issue may not be related to those, but could be caused by a bad dock connector, or a totally discharged battery. I suppose you can check the components anyway. Hope this helps, good luck.

I looked up the inductors on the page as I am having the same problem. I read 5V on the internal cable from the charging port on my 4s. But I do not receive the 5V at the battery terminal. I would love to fix this as I have access to a 2M lab. OldTurkey, do all the inductors come the same shape as long as the specifics are the same? I know this doesn't hold true with a lot of other items. Are there anymore specifics that I can use to order the right inductor?

@cowboyobe, L3 and L4 are a 0402 package 0.039" L x 0.023" W x 0.014" H (1.00mm x 0.58mm x 0.35mm) L28 is a TDK inductor vls252012-SM and can be matched with those at digikey or Mouser as well as many others. Physical size is 2 mm W x 2.5 mm L x 1.2 mm H. As you can see, they are not very big....Hope this helps.

For iPhone 4S which is not getting charge even after replacing battery check out your warranty 'if you were still in warranty' when you changed the battery on your own, I suggest find a retail store which specializes in this 'area of issue' and go from there.

All the best!!!!

If your battery is discharged below a certain threshold, it will not charge.
