How did this happen?

'My Ipod went off while I was wathing a video on youtube. It wouldn't turn back on and I tried the steps to the battery and then the screen busted. I don't think that repairing the screen would help and my warranty expaired. What do I do?''

Breana, this depends on what you want to do. The 1st gen is a bit of a bear to open. To change the display will cost you about $20 for the cheapest LCD, I am sure that you have seen the guides already, so its your call. Spend the money and repair it, or sell it with the broken screen for some extra money on places like ebay.com or craigslist.com and purchase a new iPod.
