I'm sure Adam is a very nice guy but he works for iFixit and is thus limited on what he can recommend. This is an example of extreme overpricing and not adjusting for time. This display can be had for less than 1/3 of iFixits price thus making it an affordable repair. Just Google the part number, 661-2691.
Adam, the price on this part really need to be adjusted to the real world market price. The whole machine doesn't sell for the $400 you're asking for just this part.

I don't think it has anything to do with the hinges after testing rather with the back panel
