Mouse works intermittently, loose connection? Can it be fixed?

Follow a drop on a hardwood floor the mouse works intermittently. Will work, if connection established, for a while as long as not picked up and moved. On/off light either works, doesn't work, or flickers when trying to reconnect. Change of batteries does not change situation. Possibly a connection loosened by being dropped to floor. Can it be fixed?
