MacBook Pro A 1212 processor upgrade

I attempted to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion and got a message that my 17" MacBrook Pro (A1212) wasn't upgradeable because of hardware restrictions. I have 3GB SDRAM, & 840GB of available space on the HD, but "only" a 2.33 GHz Core 2 Duo.

Id there any way to upgrade this device so that the this and future releases of OS X can be used?

JJ

NO - processors in laptops are soldered to the logic board.

10.7.5 was the maximum OS on this model. It will take 4GB of RAM.
