What will be the 3 TB drive size? 2.5 or 3.5?

This is not a repair question, but I really wonder the size of built to order 3 TB drive especially in 21.5". Because 1 TB drive found as 2.5" drive. There is no 3 TB 2.5" drive on the market. It seems, it can't be fitted a 3,5" drive inside. Maybe two thin 1.5 TB 2.5" drives glued :) together? I'm not sure there exists such a single, thin 2,5" drive? I heard WD 2 TB single unit but I'm not sure. I think only ifixit will answer that when they tear down a 3 TB model. Maybe it will be answered by hardware numbers if somebody posts the disk information of such a 3 TB model.

(I edited the question, sorry for the unintentional GB alias for TeraBytes, before.)

I Suppose in the 27" iMac it is 3.5"

There is enough space and it looks like 3.5 in the graphic from the Keynote.

In the 21.5" Model there is no such option, so there just is no 2.5" HDD with 3GB at all.

I have to admit I'm rather confused by your question. The Intel iMac has a Terrabyte sized Hard Drive, which I assume you mean (not gigabtye "GB"). The 21.5 inch iMac will come with a 1 TB drive as standard. However, the larger 27 inch iMac will be available with a 1TB, 3TB, 768GB SSD or 3TB fusion drive with 128 gigs of flash ram on board. They'll be single drives, but no-one as yet has any information on the physical dimensions of the drives.

There is not enough space for a 3.5" hard drive, so it must be a 2.5" model.

these drives have not arrived the customer market yet, but are available for manufactors since a few weeks

Yes Johnny Flash, you're right. I'm mistaken by the illusional effect of the Keynote which the new iMac introduced by Phil Schiller and many posts afterwards. All was saying that the options are 3 TB disk, 1 and 3 TB Fusion drive etc ... I always thought that 3 TB disk is an option for both iMacs. After your answer I controlled and found that 3 TB drive is not an option for the 21.5" iMac, but for the 27". It's so simple. Thanks.
