A lot of people loved the smaller size but it's a bear to repair! So I do think replacing the logic board would be the easier solution but likely more expensive depending on what was damaged. Here's the iFixit guide to replace it and the part as well [guide|104471]

Repairing the logic board is possible but does take a bit of skill as this is by far the densest board every created as such hard to soldier without disturbing other components.
