The hinges on the newer MacBooks are a two piece design, a press fit pin into the lid and a clutch spring which wraps around the pin to offer the friction. Only the clutch side offers the mounting interface to the uppercase.
-So… either the screws them selves are loose reference Step 12 in this guide [guide|142554] or the press fit pin has become loose within the lid. Often times the hinges work but the last bit of closure is where you notice it’s a bit loose., that’s a sign the pins have failed which will require replacing the display assembly.
