@loganmcalpine that very much sounds like a stuck lens which is one of the most common errors on digital cameras. Start of by trying to fix this with the few tips that are listed [link|https://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html|on here|new_window=true] I found that most often the lens is actually damaged and requires a replacement.
Use the [document|41563] to disassemble your camera and to either work on the lens (replacement parts are a bit difficult to obtain) or to replace it. It is not to complicated and lenses should still be available. It's a great little camera and a worthwhile fix.
While you work on your camera, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has a device with the same issues as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides.
