internet connection not working on inspiron 15 3558

i cant connect to home WiFi. it does not even show up with all the other networks. but my phone and t.v pick up the WiFi network. when i turn my hot spot on my phone the laptop picks it up but wont pick up the house WiFi.....can someone please help. thank you
