2010 iMac LCD temp sensor cable

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

[br]
I have a couple of questions…
1. Will an LCD temp sensor cable from a 27” iMac work in a 21.5” iMac?[br]
2. How would I remove the old one from the back of the LCD panel  and how would I go about replacing it?
3. The reason I asked the 1st question is because I am having difficulty finding one that will fit a 2010 21.5” iMac.
LCD temp sensor cables for the 2010 27” iMac are far easier to find. Any help and or suggestions in locating a cable the 3010 21.5” iMac, if the answer to my 1st question is “NO”.
Any help in finding a cable that will work would be greatly appreciated! 😎
Thanks in advance
Joe
=== Update (09/30/24) ===
This is how the cable got “damaged’ and a picture of it.
One of the wires on the cable came loose when I was trying to disconnect it from the board and needs to be  soldered back on. I am thinking it would be an easier ti replace the cable with a “new” (undamaged) cable
u I think it would be “easier” to remove the 4 cablesthat I had to disconnect in order to remove the LCD from the back of it then install them into the boats 1st then the back of the LCD.
I am not sure how the LCD temp sensor cable attaches to board. I was having a difficult time trying to get the cable reinstalled into the board. That is why I was considering doing it this way
The reason I removed the LCD panel was because I want to replace the hard drive with an SSD.
I do not have a good way to magnify it and need better lighting in order to reinstall this cable.

Joe
