New Nintendo 3DS XL screen stays black when powered on

Hello, I recently purchased a broken New Nintendo 3DS XL for repair. The listing stated that the console powered on, but nothing was shown on the screen.
When I received the console in the mail and tested it, I figured it was related to the LCD screen connections or was bricked (both issues I have fixed before) but it doesn't seem to be the case here.
The way my issue seems to be different from others is that nothing on the console works at all when the power is on. There is no sound and no wifi yellow light.
I have already tried the following as its been suggested online:
* Held power button for 15 seconds without the battery in
* Blew on game card port
* Removed Wifi card briefly then put it back
* Verified and gently cleaned LCD screen connections
* Attempted to boot into Safe mode (unsuccessful)
* Removed SD Card
* Powered console on, removed battery while it was on, put battery back in and power on again (unsuccessful)
* Changed out battery with a tested functional one (unsuccessful, battery that was in the unit was also tested on another console with success)
* Held power and home buttons at the same time
* Verified that the SD card had NO CFW on it. (Unknown if that SD card originally came with the console)
My next test was going to be verifying if the LCD screens are bad but I didn't think that would cause the sound to be bad? I also don't have another New 3DS XL at the moment. I have worked with numerous 2DS and 3DS XL but this is my first NEW 3DS XL. I was hoping it would be similar but it seems to be vastly different.
What else can I try? What else might be causing these issues?
