MacBook will not stay on with new battery

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I bought a new battery for my MacBook from iFixit, installed it following the guide. But now the MacBook will not turn on when not connected to a power supply. When I try to turn on my MacBook while plugged in, it shows me that the battery is at 0% and not charging. I get to the login screen but a second after logging in, the screen goes black and will not turn on again.

I assumed that either the battery is faulty or I made a mistake installing it. I double checked that all connectors are properly plugged in. Then I disconnected the battery and booted up the MacBook while plugged in with no battery. This time I didn’t get the black screen and everything worked fine.

I noticed that when the screen went to black before, coconut battery had launched and actually recognized the new battery! It now shows up in the history with 105% capacity.

So… it seems like my laptop did recognize the battery but still couldn’t use it? I am at a loss. I already tried an SMC reset which didn’t help.
