First off I would plug in an external display to make sure the rest of the system is working.
As to TrueTone... That depends on which way you go.

A virgin display from the display maker won't have the displays firmware installed so you won't have a working FaceTime camera. If you get a used display that will work, just not offer TrueTone as you need access to the Apple controlled Calibration tool.

Apple doesn't offer Intel system parts (only M1 Series and newer systems) you can't get the part directly from Apple to do the job your self.
