Sounds like the power key has failed. Unlike the Pro series this series uses an integrated key within the keyboard. As such you’ll need to replace the entire keyboard which is not easy! Instead I recommend replacing the upper case assembly as it’s a lot less work! Here’s the needed part [product|IF188-098]. Then it’s just a matter of transferring the parts over to the new upper case.
