No operating system? Internet recovery doesn't work for Lion

On power up it goes to the question mark. So when I boot up in recovery, the install new copy of lion won't download. says missing components. [br]

It shows 128 gb ssd on the left and the base system, under idisk on the left.
I took my 160 gb out of my other old MacBook and it boots up just fine. I haven't used or booted it up since 2017 so everything is very out of date and safari won't open any web pages. so I don't even know where to go next on updating from a somewhat working operating system.
where do I go from here? I feel like I'm overthinking the solution since its been so long since I've done anything hardware related to my Macs
