Sorry, your issue is within the trackpad and/or the trackpad to logic board cable. The keyboard is held as hostage by the trackpads connection. Review your connections as showmen in this guide [guide|38544] and as you have a second system see if replacing the trackpad solved things.

In any case the EFI chip is not the issue here, and SMC is failing as it’s not able to access the trackpads sensors.
