I have, it is an i7 27" Graphics / Display Replace How

Hi,[br]
Im not sure which model of Mac I have, its old, very old. It is 27" and an i7.
The display went a bit crazy. I took it to a shop who broke the glass display so I will need to buy a new or use an external one. I do have a thunderbolt to HDMI, so that a possible.[br]
Since getting it back from the shop. I have no graphics. I do have a hardware back ground and whilst I have never looked in side a Mac before, I can find my way around PC's.[br]
I see 1 board, which I guess is power then a mother board. Everything else is cooling, mic extra things.[br]
If the shop trashed the graphics, is there a way to make this system work again. Its far from the latest and greatest, it was good for my needs.[br]
Any ideas/suggestions would really help. I cant afford a new one, so if its gone its gone and Ill use a normal PC with linux.[br]
Thanks
Jess.
