Hi! - Your iMac will not braek, it will just blink the Logic Board but it will not work. + Your iMac will not break , it will just not work. - Your iMac can only work eith i7 7700K... + Your 2017 iMac can only work with i7 7700K, a 2019 iMac can work with i9 9900K . - iMac 2019 Can work with i9 9900K. iMac 2019 Can work with i9 9900K. I have both versions and i have try both processors at the imac 2017..
In your place i would sell my imac, anf buy another one (2019 i5 at low price) and upgrafe it to i9.. This is what i have now.
