So let's get to the bottom of this YES you can take the SSD out of your system and gain access to the data on it. You can even migrate the apps and data to a new system as well!
Now the tricky part! Apple won't take your system in for repairs without the drive present in the system and to add to that they will also wipe the drive! As they don't want to have access to your info or naughty stuff!
OK, so they won't fix the system without the drive and will wipe it before my eyes! Thats not helpful! Is there an option? A local independent shop might be a better choice or you could just replace the logic board your self!
