Why are both of my analog sticks clicking after a clean?

After doing a clean on an old ps4 controller and getting rid of the stick drift, once I checked the both analog sticks it all of the sudden makes a ***very loud clicking*** (one click) ***noise*** and ***resisting*** whenever I push. The noise and resistance only happens after moving the stick in the ***down direction***, also when moving counterclockwise at around 180 degrees (search up "360 angle" for reference of the 180 degrees). Also there is a very sleight noise when moving the stick in the every other direction, but there is no resistance.
I tested moving both analog sticks without the green things touching and that does not seem to be the problem. If more info is needed I'll provide what I can.
