Replacing a 13” 2016 logic board (fn keys) with 2017

Hi,

I have a late 2016 13” macbook pro (function keys) with a bad logic board. With some research i found that the 2017 version is almost identical with an updated CPU and GPU. A replacement 2016 board fetches a similar price online so I was wondering if I could replace the board with a 2017 version (also with function keys).
