At this point you’ll need to take the logic board out as the SMC logic is on the other side. I’m suspecting the spill hmade its way onto the chips input lines so its getting a spurious error. Follow this guide [guide|38529] and inspect the area around the SMC chip marked in dark blue in this image.

Use some 95% or better isopropyl alcohol and a soft toothbrush to lightly scrub any liquid stains you see and rinse the area down to get the stuff off the board, use a can of can’ed air to push out any remaining moisture.
