Sadly, there is little one can do to fix this as parts for it are almost impossible to find (that work)
Th first thing I see is a dead display as you should have seen a grey screen not black so the backlight inverter and/or the CCFL’s are gone. The fact its not getting past Post (restarting) implies there is still deeper issues within the logic board.
Time to cry, and let your friend go to where the souls of the other departed computers go. Sorry ;-{
