Is there a way to run this machine with no display?

-4-5 weeks after replacing the internal HD on my daughter’s late-2013 27” iMac, the display just…fell out. I don’t know if the adhesive was faulty, or I just didn’t apply enough pressure. (I genuinely thought I had.) But it is what it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ [br]

-When the display fell out, it damaged the LCD data port on the logic board, which I discovered after having ordered a replacement display. The iMac will still boot and work with an external display, but without sensor data from the LCD, it’s throttling the CPU to 20%. I’ve calmed the fans with Macs Fan Control and removed the IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext from System/Library/Extensions, but the CPU is still being throttled.[br]

Is there any way to get this machine back to a semi-useful state (it has a Nvidia GPU, so I can use it for Iray), or is it just scrap at this point? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
