So I work at a phone repair shop. A customer brought in an 11 with water damage and it was boot-looping. Unplugged the face id/earpiece flex cable and came on fine. I see '''Ear Speaker with Sensor Flex Cable''' parts online that are supposedly OEM.
Now I’ve seen videos of people replacing the actual sensor, via micro soldering, to get the face ID working, but unfortunately we don’t do that here.
So if I just replace the cable so that at least the earpiece works, but NOT transfer the sensor(customer Isn’t concerned about the Face-ID anyway) I’ve read about it possibly tripping the “tampering detection”
Will that cause you to not be able to use the phone AT ALL, or just the Face-ID function?
