-The drive is a special version of m2 in the air I have replaced several of them using drives purchased from OWC with success. Sometimes the board needs to be resoldered using a reflow system if replacing the drive doesn’t work which is very expensive. I have occasionally done a ‘botch’ job by removing the board and putting it in a 150c temperature oven on a silicone mat for an hour or so but I don’t recommend it as it is very easy to destroy the board by overheating or warping if it is cooled too quickly
