Hi ruchirj33, Thunderbolt is not the same as Mini Display Port. They are only sharing the same port on your computer. If you want to connect a TV via HDMI then what you need would just be a Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter. However, if your TV has a high resolution like UHD, then this may not be supported by the Macbook.
