This burn may have also did a number on the logicboard, take the phone apart and check the logicboard by the connector, if the board is fine, read on
+
Since the burn damage may have damaged the logicboard, I'd inspect that before you spend too much money on the phone. If you find out the problem is isolated to the connector and the board survived, then there should be no problem with just replacing the connector.
-
You can change the connector, however, as pollytintop puts in some of HER awnsers, it's a PITA to unsolder the old one and resolder a new connector, DO NOT do this unless you are good at this level of soldering!(I can solder a Touch battery, this is tough for me to solder the connector on, I almost screwed up!)
+
If the motherboard didn't survive, you're probably better off getting a new phone. New boards are very expensive and used boards are a gamble in terms of usability; this isn't a problem with a new phone.
-
The connectors are the same, but like I said, you may have done a number on it
+
While it is possible to do a bare replacement with solder, it's a difficult thing to do. The connector is inexpensive so it really isn't worth the effort (or gamble) to reuse the old assembly. Even then, this is an advanced soldering job.

I suggest you take the phone apart and look for burns, burnt parts

-
If the connector is burnt, but the logicboard survived, change the connector if you can solder, otherwise buy a complete assembly
-
-
If the logicboard took a hit too, the board may need to be replaced based on the degree of damage, but it's rare for the logicboard to take a hit too

No, you can buy one on ebay, however, you are in for a challenge! The motherboard removal is painless, this is hard to replace
-
-
Also, be careful the connectors are ok on the board too, if they burnt on the board, buy a new motherboard instead, it will completley drop any risk of it not working right after
