Back when I regularly used optical media (not so much anymore), I found [https://sourceforge.net/projects/simplyburns/|Simply Burns] works well on MacOS. It’s still available and supported today if you need something to burn CD’s and still appears to be supported as of 2018, but at a reduced capacity at this point since optical media is being phased out for mainstream use.

I’ve always used Simply Burns on Macs. It always works for me and has done so for years. It can be downloaded [https://sourceforge.net/projects/simplyburns/|here].
