I have a 2017 imac9.1 27” that I love and refuse to get rid off. It has had the above described issue: It runs normal for about 25 minutes after which the upper left area behind the screen gets hot and the fans kick in really loud - it then runs for another 5 minutes tops. The computer than gets so loud and hot that it freezes. Only shutdown and cool down allows me to turn it on. The heat appears to come from the top area where the powersupply is located. Has anyone resolved this issue? I would appreciate any help.
