Areas of screen unresponsive to touch after screen replacement

I am just about done with the '''iPad 6 Wi-Fi Front Panel Assembly Replacement''' procedure. The LCD is screwed back in with the new touchscreen connected. I turned on the iPad to test the touchscreen (before final step of removing adhesive strips and securing touchscreen down).
Home button works fine - iPad lights up and when I go to enter my code, the 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 0 all seem to work but the 1, 2, and 3 buttons do not respond to touch. “Delete” and “Cancel” text buttons both work.
I am able to power down (by sliding across the top of the screen) fine. Tried a hard reboot but same issue persists.
Is this a problem with the iFixit replacement screen or could there be another issue?
