Time to pop the bottom cover off and visually inspect the battery. Follow this guide [guide|45137] for the first steps, then compare your battery to the images in the rest of the guide any of the cells seem puffy?

If the battery cells look OK then I would first try cleaning the battery when the cable crosses over and the cable its self removing any sand and lastly the bottom cover when the cable rests against. After reseating the cable if the keyboard and trackpad still have a problem then replace the trackpad cable [product|IF123-130] then replace the [product|IF123-117] following this guide [guide|45138]
