How much is too much for a screen?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I built this phone from 2 clunkers and while it needs work, it is serviceable again. The phone was assembled from one with a bad screen but a good board (64GB SIM unlocked) and a bad board with a non charging battery, but it has a good screen which I used. However, it has multiple spider web cracks (4+edge screen crack) and 2 parts of the panel with isolated damage. I used a glass screen protector as a cover to protect it, but I do need to look into a screen to see if I want to leave it like this for good or try and do a full repair.
The battery I used has some waves that are visible, but it worked to test the phone. I’m attacking that as soon as my next paycheck comes.
The phone goes for ~$100-130 (USD; convert for other countries) used with this configuration (with a descent screen), so it isn’t cheap to find a identical copy for (unlike the 32GB) but it’s still not expensive. The old owner tried to do the button only repair, so I have a ready to use frame with a new button board I can drop a bare screen on :-).
