-One of the issues you face when replacing the cover glass tape’s is going to far! Yes, you want something that’s strong so the glass doesn’t fall off. But you also don’t want it so strong you need a jackhammer to get the glass off in a future repair.

So… replace the tape in the same locations and size, don’t over apply and use the correct adhesion grade tape.
iFixit offers Tesa 61395 tape which is what Apple uses. If you are only doing one system this might be a cheaper option [product|IF317-072-5|Precut Adhesive card]
You’ll want to use a [product|IF145-031] to soften to old tape and use [product|IF145-259], [product|IF145-123-2] & [product|IF145-361].
-Frankly, I‘ve given up trying to replace the LCD panels or cover glass. It takes a lot of skill to get the glass out without damaging the bezel frame and the rubber gasket. Then you still have to fight through the dust on the glass surfaces and not damaging the polarizer & defuser sheets.
