As far as sliding in a 2012 logic board, sorry thats not possible! Apple altered the 21.5 system design quite radically in 2012.
An alternative to upgrading the CPU & GPU board is to replace the full logic board with the 2011 21.5” iMac with either a i5 or i7 logic board within this series [https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords=iMac12,1|iMac12,1]
