One of the biggest misconceptions is the system runs exclusively off of the MagSafe or the battery but never both together! Which is not true! Running heavy loads or when you have a bad DC-In board will often pull power from both which can cause issues.

If you have any cable or the MagSafe pins are damaged you need to get a new charger! The risk of the system being damage is quite great if it is.
