One of the two internal fans burned out a long time ago. I am not sure which one.
I’m running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 put can’t go any further than that.

I want put in a new CPU in, the Wifi and every thing mentioned to get another couple 2-3 years out of it if I can - but computer repair shops aren’t interested in helping to upgrade it especially in this way. I would, while I was at it replace the fan as it sounds like a new CPU will run hotter anyway.

I am by no means a tech - is this something that I can handle doing? I’ve only ever just replaced the ram. I have never opened the computer up. I am a complete beginner. Give me an honest opinion - is this an advanced exercise?
