I suspect my Macbook Pro to suffer from the same issue. However, my problem is that it stops while booting. Any suggestion to overcome this ?

Symptom : display shows some (not so) horizontal red lines

it stops booting while the apple is displayed and the progress bar has not reach the right end

I then got a whit/light gray screen.

I had the problem last week and managed to get it boot again after multiple NVRAM reset. I can't succeed this time.

Before having this issue I had several system crash/reboots. I'm correlating that with use of Final Cut Pro X and Unity 3D dev (use of the AMD GPU).
