Depending on your exact model you might find replacing the complete display assembly easier and much less work! Here's the IFIXIT guide: [guide|3438] within it you'll find the different screens this model had ($280 to $500 US). Replacing the LCD is also possible but its a lot more work! Here's the guide for doing this: [guide|9594] the steps to Step16 are the same then from Step17 on to Step34 is taking the lid apart. The LCD panel cost is much lower ($150 US). But, the risks of breaking the cover glass as well as damaging the bezel & gasket have to be factored in.
