Unresponsive after screen replacment

I recently performed a screen replacement on a Surface Pro 3. The old screen came out with a bit of elbow grease, but nothing surprising. No tool slips, no caught cables, etc. Everything seemed to be going great. Cleaned off the old adhesive to replace with fresh, plugged the new screen in to test before completing, and I get nothing. The light on the charger comes on fine, but the tablet remains unresponsive. I did unplug the battery during the repair, so I didn't have to worry about shorting out anything or the screen trying to come on while installing. Plugged everything back in, and I get nothing. Tried all the button-press combinations I could find, to no avail. Anyone have a similar situation? This is for a customer, and I'm kinda stumped. I've already checked the small spring connectors that go between the cable and board for both the LCD and the battery, and both appear to be fine.
