Want to use WPA how do I fix this?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

Is there an exact guide how to upgrade the firmware of an 802.11b card to use WPA?

My problem is, my just connected 802.11b card does not even show up in "network", even after restart, its greyed out.

When I installed 10.3.9 on my iBook LE Graphite there was no AirPort card in place, does it mean during the installation process any AirPort software had not been installed? I had to install 10.3.9. over the network as its only got a CD drive (not DVD), hence, a bit time consuming..... so, all possible scenarios of "whats missing" to recognise that an AirPort 802.11b card is now in place would be good.

Once recognised and listed in "network" I want to upgrade the firmware (how??) to reach WPA security...

Thanks for help in advance :-)
