40GB 1st Gen... Want to add additional internal fan?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

Hi all -
So I've got the white pixel issue (common) and discovered that with additional cooling, it did indeed subside. I already replace the thermal adhesive/paste... so my question is if anyone could give me advice on how to add an additional internal fan.
I have a fan ready, just not sure how to wire it. Thanks

UPDATE: 5/13/2011 - Picked out a spare laptop fan whose specs (dc voltage/w) were the same but slightly larger in size... and installed it (after rewiring it to fit the connector from the original fan) into the ATV. Works great! Reduced the pixel issue down to nearly non-existent (once in a blue moon... one white spec might appear) and the unit definitely feels cooler. Thanks spare Dell laptop that I stripped! Just goes to show... never throw old but functioning electronics parts out. They come in handy! LOL.
