If your Sony ULT Wear is unable to pair to a device through wireless Bluetooth connection, use this troubleshooting guide to help diagnose why.
Pairing Mode Disconnected
First, you may have to ensure that your headphones are fully charged.
- Place the headphones and the device you would like to pair with are within range of each other, no more than 3 ft.
- Press and hold the power button until the blue light starts to flash. This will put your headphones into pairing mode. Then find the Bluetooth settings on your device, look for the name “ULT WEAR,” and connect to your device.
SoundConnect App Disconnected
If pairing through your device’s settings is not working, you may need to use Sony’s official device connection app. The SoundConnect App can be found in the Apple App store, Google Play store, etc. Once downloaded, select your device, the Sony ULT WEAR Headphones, and follow the on-screen instructions.
De-synced Hardware
If your headphones do not appear through either of the first two methods, you may need to reset them. To reset your headphones:
- Connect them to an AC outlet using the cable supplied with the device (USB Type-C) and a USB AC adaptor (A). While connected, press the power button and the NC/AMB (noise canceling/Ambient Sound Mode) button at the same time.
This should reset your headphones, but your pairing, volume, and other information should still be stored.
Faulty Software
If your headphones do not connect after the initial reset, it may be necessary to apply a factory reset. This reset will not store any of your previous pairing information, so you will need to re-initialize and re-pair your headphones to your device again. To factory reset your headphones:
- Remove the USB Type-C cable and turn off the headphones.
- Press and hold the power and NC/AMB button for 10 seconds until the blue light beside the power button flashes 4 times.
Your headphones have now been factory reset, and you may begin the pairing stage again. If the connection is still unresponsive, you must contact Sony customer support for further guidance.
