Sony SRS-XB21 troubleshooting

It has battery problems and sound distortion issues.

Press the bluetooth button and a flashing blue light will appear, indicating ready mode.

Make sure the Sony SRS-XB21 is turned on and hold the bluetooth button until the pairing light starts to flash. If the light is steady (not flashing), it may be paired to another divide.
Low battery power can affect pairing. Connect the speaker to a functioning outlet using the supplied micro-usb cable.
Move the devices closer! Keeping your phone or computer within 3 feet (1 meter of the speaker during prana and 10ft with use. Remove metal objects between them when trying to pair.

The speaker is only able to be used for small amounts of time before dying.

With this specific device, there doesn’t seem to be any battery issues but if your device experiences battery problems, you should do the following:
For charging issues, make sure the cable is secure and that there is no lint and debris in the port.
If the device won’t hold a charge, replace the charger with a USB cable with faster and more reliable charging.

The volume can not be heard any louder than the phone and sounds muffled.

On the speaker, press the “+” until the speaker beeps, showing that it is turned to full volume. Also make sure that the volume on your phone is set to max volume.
Low battery can affect the volume. Plug the device into a functioning power source to and allow an appropriate amount of time for the speaker to charge. Test the volume again to see if it is any louder.
Sound distortion can be caused by excess bass boosting or too high of a volume. Try to turn the volume down or try another song with less bass to test the speaker.
Make sure that the device connected to the speaker is in the bluetooth range of the speaker. Moving too far away can cause sound distortion or the sound to cut in and out of the device.

Unable to turn up or down the volume and the bluetooth button is not responding.

Force restart the speaker, press and hold the “power” button for 8-10 seconds until the indicator lights turn off; Wait 3 seconds then press the power button again to complete the restart.
Check for moisture or debris, wipe with a DRY soft cloth. Let air dry for 1-3 hours,
DONT USE COMPRESSED AIR!!!. Can drive the particles deeper.

Can the speaker be used in the water?

Do not use device under a faucet or use it in areas where its exposed to high pressure of water
Cap must be fully closed
Device is not designed for an environment with hot water
